I definitely understand what you are saying about forms being tedious, but obviously this is going to be pretty important to what you are trying to achieve. Maybe if you broke it down into steps that incorporated images/videos of the choices the users were making, it might work to make it more fun.

Also, I know you had talked about doing a section of your site for mobile phones that recommended movies. You might also have a section that the user can create a list of movies they want to see, so that when they get to the store and know there something they were going to rent, they now have a way to remember. (like me ).

Very well researched topic. Just a question tho, I don’t have an iPhone, but I do have a Blackberry. Does all this research apply to other mobiles aside from iPhones? That’s one of the things that as a Blackberry user tends to get me frustrated. Some sites that I know are viewable for an iPhone perfectly, just won’t work on my phone, and I’m definitely not interested in switching to an iPhone. I <3 my Blackberry aside from the iPhone apps, can the rest apply in making a site mobile-friendly, not just iPhone-friendly??

That’s pretty crazy that the MIT students made the applications so fast. It’s cool. I liked your first site, too. There are some really good things to think about when you build a site for mobile phones. It has some of the information that I found on some of my sites and that Chris found on some of his. So, it is awesome to see that people in the industry definitely agree on similar key points. Very nice.

Ahh, your idea of creating a site that acts like an iPhone app, but is not is pretty cool. You would have the tools and usability like an app, but with the capability of launching it on every platform. Very good idea, and if you can pull it off then I applaud you. Its interesting what you said about having people come in all the time that have broken thier phone and “just cant go on”. It really makes you realize how vital having your site be mobile really is. Bueno trabajo!

I got the same thing out of the information I researched. I liked the definition: “the crowning achievement, point, element, or event” and “the final stroke; the culmination or acme.”

Dave Werner’s site was pretty awesome, it was a lot of fun to play around with. I think interactivity is a great way showcase what we’ve learned here.

That’s exactly what I was trying to say. haha. Yes, it is a little unnerving thinking about the level of importance associated with this project. But I also think we will soon see that its not too much to be stressed about. *crosses fingers* I hope.

Dave Werner – Nice find. I like the style and feel of his site. It makes it more personable, and that can all ways be helpful IMO, when looking to gain insight on others creative thinking processes.

Great post… Well, I too looked up the actual meaning of capstone, which actually made me very nervous about this project. To think that I have to use everything that I have learned and apply it to this project is scarey, because there are things that I still feel very new at it. But… I am anxious to get started working on it.

It’s interesting, I actually thought of the meaning of “capstone” too when I first started writing because I knew I had heard the meaning of it before of how its a stone that goes on last to support everything else. Anyways, I like the links you provided, I kinda got sucked into the website called okaydave, he did a very interesting website that in cased literally everything it seemed like that he had done. I think a capstone project should reflect your passion, which for example that site I just mentioned did exactly that. While a capstone helps support of your skills that you have acquired, it also needs to show who you are as an individual. Just something to think about. I am trying to keep it in mind in all I do.
